The macadamia tree is native to Australia, which is also where the finest macadamia nut oils originate. Gradually, this nut tree has also begun to be cultivated in Hawaii, the southern United States, several African nations, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Brazil, and Fiji. Macadamia nuts are rich in oil, which is traditionally extracted using cold-pressing methods from fresh nuts—grinding them and pressing out the golden oil. This oil is highly valued both as a culinary oil with a pleasant taste and aroma, and as a natural, effective skincare product. Macadamia nut oil is resistant to oxidation because, similar to olive oil and avocado oil, its composition consists mostly of monounsaturated fatty acids, and it is rich in Vitamin E, a natural antioxidant. Due to these qualities, macadamia nut oil is gaining popularity worldwide in both the food and cosmetics industries. 

Macadamia Nut Oil for Beauty Macadamia nut oil is an effective skincare oil because the palmitoleate (palmitoleic acid) in its composition can delay the skin aging process and help combat existing signs of aging. The skin easily absorbs macadamia nut oil without leaving a greasy feeling, making it pleasant to use for both facial and full-body skincare. Used regularly, macadamia nut oil will soften, hydrate, and restore vitality to dry, dull skin.

Macadamia nut oil is also recommended for dry and brittle hair care. It can be used as a conditioner or massaged into the scalp at least 1 hour before washing your hair. The hair roots, scalp, and strands absorb the nutrients in the oil, helping restore vitality and shine.

Macadamia nut oil is also recommended for caring for dry nail cuticles. Warm the oil and submerge your fingertips in the warm oil for 5–10 minutes. Afterwards, massage any remaining oil into the skin of your hands. Repeat this procedure at least once a week to restore dry skin. This treatment will improve not only skin condition, but also nail strength.
